What we say up front
OKTAN Agency is a French business based in Villiers-le-Bel, north of Paris. We have no office, address or representative in Ireland, and we will not pretend otherwise. You work directly with an independent provider who designs, builds and delivers your project from France.
Building a brochure website or an online shop, or taking over an existing one, does not require anyone to be physically present. Calls take place by video, decisions are confirmed in writing, and you follow progress on a preview link that you can open at any time. This is already how we work with most of our clients in France.
If your project needs meetings on your premises, a visit to Ireland is possible on quote, with the travel costs set out in advance. For most web projects, it is simply not needed.
Time zone and scheduling
France is one hour ahead of Ireland all year round, because both countries change their clocks on the same weekends in spring and autumn.
With a one-hour difference there is little to manage: calls are set at times that suit you, in Dublin, Cork, Galway or Limerick, and written questions are answered by email.
You can book a free 30-minute discovery call directly from our contact page.
Language, quotes and invoicing
Projects with Irish clients are run in English: calls, written exchanges, quotes and handover documents.
Every project starts with a detailed quote that sets out the scope, deliverables, milestones, estimated lead times and price. The order is firm once the quote is accepted in writing and the deposit is paid. Our full terms of sale apply.
Ireland and France share the euro, so there is no exchange rate to think about: prices are shown and invoiced in euros, and the amount on your invoice is the amount on your quote. VAT not applicable (article 293 B of the French General Tax Code). As we are both in the European Union, the tax arrangements that apply between our two businesses depend on your status, and they are set out in the quote.
Outside France, we work with businesses only. We do not accept orders from consumers.
The rules your website has to respect
Ireland applies the same European rules as France, which makes the technical side of a project straightforward: what we do for our French clients applies to you too.
Personal data: the GDPR, supplemented in Ireland by the Data Protection Act 2018, governs contact forms, customer accounts, newsletters and analytics. The regulator is the Data Protection Commission (DPC).
Cookies: consent is needed before any non-essential cookie or tracker is set, so we deliver a banner that actually blocks trackers until the visitor chooses.
Accessibility: since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act, transposed in Ireland by S.I. No. 636 of 2023, applies to e-commerce services and several other services provided to consumers. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) checks compliance for e-commerce. Our page on the European Accessibility Act in Ireland explains who is concerned and what it means for an online shop.
We deliver the technical implementation: consent banner, privacy notice structured around what your site really does, accessible templates and forms. We do not give legal advice, and your legal texts remain your responsibility or that of your adviser.
What Irish businesses ask us for most
A brochure website that loads fast, that you edit yourself from your browser, with no subscription and no hosting cost whatever your traffic.
A Shopify or WooCommerce online shop, or the redesign of an existing shop without losing the search rankings it has earned.
An accessibility audit of an online shop against WCAG, with the European Accessibility Act in view, followed by technical fixes on a separate quote.
A website audit before deciding on a redesign, with a prioritised roadmap.
Search engine optimisation and paid campaigns on Google, Meta, TikTok and Pinterest.
The sites we build are static files served by a global network, so they load quickly for visitors in Ireland as elsewhere. The domain name, hosting account and content stay in your name from the first day to the last.
Prices for each service and our packages are on our pricing page.
What we do not promise
We do not guarantee a search ranking, a sales figure or legal compliance. A website built with care makes compliance much easier to achieve and to demonstrate, but compliance also depends on how you run your business, what you do with the data you collect, and choices that only you can make.
If, after a first call, we think a provider based in Ireland would serve you better, for instance because your project needs someone on site every week, we will tell you.

Frequently asked questions
Do you really work with businesses in Ireland?
Yes. A website or online shop project does not need anyone on site: calls are held by video, decisions are confirmed in writing, and you follow progress on a preview link. We work with businesses only, not with consumers.
Can you come to our premises?
Yes, on quote. Our services are delivered remotely by default; if your project calls for a visit in Ireland, it is planned in the quote with the travel costs set out in advance.
How is VAT handled between France and Ireland?
Our invoices carry the statement: VAT not applicable (article 293 B of the French General Tax Code). The tax arrangements that apply to your business depend on your status and are set out in the quote, before any commitment.
Does the European Accessibility Act apply to my online shop?
It may. In Ireland it applies to e-commerce services provided to consumers since 28 June 2025, with an exemption for microenterprises providing services. Our dedicated page explains the criteria; an audit shows where your shop stands, but we do not give legal advice.
